    • Mesh is very supple to easily wrap around your arm or wrist.  
    • Made from Whiting & Davis mesh.
    • 1950s era.
      Oromesh was a mark used by Whiting & Davis during the 1950s.  
      Whiting & Davis originally opened as the Wade, Davis & Co in 1876. In 1880 Charles Whiting joined the company and worked is way up the company from errand boy to artisan to the New York sales rep in ten years. In 1892, Charles Whiting wove by hand the first Whiting & Davis handbag from gold metal mesh, creating one of the first “It” handbags. The company also created their second iconic design, the snake bracelet late in the 1890s.
      By 1896, Charles Whiting had partnered with company co-founder Edward Davis and the name Whiting & Davis was born. Throughout the 20th century, Whiting & Davis created highly sought after metal mesh handbags, jewelry, and other accessories. The company is still in existence today using different jewelry marks to differentiate new items from vintage pieces.

Worn once as a mother of the bride dress.  Pink tone on tone with V lace pattern on jacket.  Four matching fabric buttons and large shoulder pads.  A-line skirt with no waist band. Matching lace pattern on yoke of skirt. 7" back slit.  Back zipper and hook close.  78% rayon 22% linen.

        Francesca of Damon was a women's dress and knitwear line designed by Frances Rappaport. The line was started in 1961 as a spin off of a menswear line called Damon's Creations started by her husband David in 1937.  The couple retired in 1988.

        • Classic 1980s pancake beret from Frank Olive.
        • Shiny black straw.
        • A straw band at the bottom.
        • Pancake berets get their shape from the large diameter and flat profile.
        Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1929, Frank Olive studied at the Chicago Art Institute, where he started designing costumes. He moved to New York originally hoping to design for the theater. He worked for a while at Chanda and Emme before opening his first boutique on MacDougal Street in Greenwich Village, where he designed hats for Seventh Avenue fashion houses and leading department stores. In 1971 he partnered with David Stein to establish Frank Olive's World. He was one of the foremost U.S. milliners from the 1950s through 1990s. His customers included Carol Burnett, Diana Ross, and Peggy Lee. He died in New York in 1995 at age 66.

        Sensational shirt dress in a vibrant green and white abstract design. Mandarin collar. Five button placket front. Ball-shaped buttons woven in matching fabric. Three quarter length sleeves. Classic shift style is reminiscent of the 1970s. 100% cotton for comfortable summer wear. Hand wash only.

        Artist Catherine Ogust began her company in the late 1960s when she couldn’t find dresses she liked. Before launching Penthouse Gallery she was known for producing licensed ceramic reproductions of Pablo Picasso plates. Primarily known for bold prints and bright solid colors, she had her fashions manufactured in Japan under the label Penthouse Gallery. Ogust’s most famous designs were in the 1980s.

        Her classic shift dresses in were a breath of fresh area, unstructured and sans shoulder pads. Her designs were manufactured in Japan of 100% cotton from large paintings. Round woven fabric buttons were handmade in China.Penthouse Gallery prints and solid color dresses were available in three dress lengths: the Tunic above the knee; the Forever Dress just below the knee and the Caftan that was floor length. With 125 prints available, many women were avid collectors.

        Ogust aptly named her Forever Dress stating, “When they are too old to wear, like in 100 years, you can sleep in them, and they may wear out after 1,000 years.

        One of a kind vintage piece - Get it before it’s gone

        If you are looking for a second wedding dress, this is the one.  Lovely tea length, off-white dress covered in semi-sheer lace rosettes.  The sleeve length just above the arm shows the most flattering part of your arm.  The unlined rosette lace on the sleeves and across the neckline shows just a bit of skin.  Scalloped hem and sleeves.  Hem has satin edging.  Fitted waist. Double white lining at the bust line with single weight lining in the rest of the dress. Label size 12 but fits like an 8.  Please check measurements.  

        Ricco Antonio was a high fashion, eveningwear line designed by Filipino born Ricardo Gorosin. While Gorosin had no design training he watched his mom who had a thriving design business in Los Angeles, catering to entertainers such as Cass Elliott and
        He began making custom designs for individual clients in the early 1980s. By chance his fashions caught the eye of Bertha Wright, while he was visiting his sister in Lexington Kentucky. Wright, owner of the famous Calumet Farms horse-breeding farm set him up in business under the name Ricco Antonio in 1983 and he moved his base of operations to Lexington.  Eventually Gorosin and his patron had a falling out and the label closed in the 1990s.

        Après-ski Jacket & Pants, White Faux Fur & Embroidered Black Velveteen, Made in France

        Stunning embroidered jacket, tank and pants in black polyester velveteen

        Three piece Après-ski Jacket & Pants. The white faux fur on the jacket is super soft and luxurious.  Intricate Swiss-style floral embroidery in blue, red and white on all three pieces.  Open jacket with wide faux white fur trim on collar, lapel, sleeves, and bottom of the jacket. Lightly padded shoulders.

        Black velveteen pants and tank are fairly lightweight to offset the heavier jacket. This jacket is open with no closure. Pants are wide, straight-leg with scalloped edge, button fly in front.  The tank top has spaghetti straps and back is slightly lower than the front. All pieces are lined. 77% polyester, 23% viscose. Label states dry clean only.  No makers mark or brand label.

        Madge can't say enough about this fabulous vintage heron brooch.  The pinkish coral thermoset plastic body is such a beautiful color. Alternate wings have glitter embedded in the enamel for extra sparkle.  Small faceted aurora borealis rhinestones on the top of the comb and on the body.  Very detailed setting.  Gold metal perch and setting.  If you love birds and bling then this one is for you.  In the original Carnegie piece, the tail feathers were all rhinestones as was the perch.  NOTE:  This piece is not by Hattie Carnegie.

        Gold mesh belt by Whiting & Davis.  The large gold metal buckle is loaded with sparkling rhinestones.  Large oval stone is surrounded by round then baguettes.  This belt does have some weight to it.  Adjustable down from maximum length.  


        Whiting & Davis originally opened as the Wade, Davis & Co in 1876. In 1880 Charles Whiting joined the company and worked is way up the company from errand boy to artisan to the New York sales rep in ten years. In 1892, Charles Whiting wove by hand the first Whiting & Davis handbag from gold metal mesh, creating one of the first “It” handbags. The company also created their second iconic design, the snake bracelet late in the 1890s. By 1896, Charles Whiting had partnered with company co-founder Edward Davis and the name Whiting & Davis was born. Throughout the 20th century, Whiting & Davis created highly sought after metal mesh handbags, jewelry, and other accessories. The company is still in existence today using different jewelry marks to differentiate new items from vintage pieces.
