Beautiful wide brim felt winter hat in three different tones of brown. Medium brown on the brim. Dark chocolate brown velvet crown with orange silk and dark chocolate velvet twisted fabric hatband. Large brown bow in the back. By the famous milliner 1980s Whittall & Javits Dark brown netting with decorative squares adorns the brim. Large brown satin bow. Stretch cord on the back to hold hat in place.

 

 

Eliot Whittall and Eric Javitz, both graduates of the Rhode Island School of Design, joined forces after college to create this line of millinery in the early l980s. This label later became known as Whittall & Schon, when Richard Shon, one of the company's designers bought out Eric Javits. Both Javits and Whittall & Schon are still active companies.

 

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR HAT SIZE:

  1. Pull a fabric tape measure or length of string around your head just slightly above the ear, across the mid-forehead, completely circling your head.
  2. Hold the tape firmly, but not too tightly. You are measuring your head exactly where the hat will sit.
  3. If your measurement falls between sizes, choose the next largest size.

    Vintage 1980s Women's Max Mara Camel CoatDouble Breasted, 100% Wool, Made in Italy

    Sensational vintage Max Mara coat in a rich dark camel tone.  Nice slim cut makes this one not too bulky.  The double breasted styling is sure to keep you warm.Three quarter length, double breasted with six visible buttons plus two inside.  One extra button is sewn into lining.  Buttons are tortoise style and 1" in diameter.  Notch collar, dolman sleeves.  Collar, lapel, shoulders and middle of back are top stitched in the same camel color.  Angled welt pocket on each side.  Softly padded shoulders. This coat is 100% wool with a light brown silk lining.

    Vintage Coral Pink Enamel Heron Brooch with Clear Rhinestones

    Madge can't say enough about this fabulous bird of paradise.  It's a 1980s tribute to the classic 1960s Hattie Carnegie heron brooch  The pinkish coral thermoset plastic body is such a beautiful color. Alternate wings have glitter embedded in the enamel for extra sparkle.  Small faceted aurora borealis rhinestones on the top of the comb and on the body.  Very detailed setting.  Gold metal perch and setting.  If you love birds and bling then this one is for you.  In the original Carnegie piece the tail feathers were all rhinestones as was the perch.  NOTE:  This piece is not by Hattie Carnegie.
