Sparkly cluster bead brooch and clip earrings set from Laguna, a company renown for this type of jewelry. Crystal aurora borealis beads with metal points are a classic 50s design that works perfectly for evening or cocktail dress.
Laguna jewelry, founded by Royal Craftsmen Inc. in 1944, was famous for beaded jewelry using simulated pearls, plastic beads, Austrian crystals and faceted glass beads. The company closed in 1980.

Striking 1950s demi parure set from Lisner. Ribbons of textured gold metal wrap your neck and arm. Very classic mid century look from one of my favorite jewelry companies. Each piece stand on it's own and together make quite the elegant statement. Hook clasp on necklace and fold-over clasp on bracelet.
Founded by David Lisner in 1904, the company started as a wholesaler and was well known as the importer of Schiaparelli jewelry. The company produced their own jewelry in Providence, RI starting in the early 30s and employed the newest materials such as Dupont's new colored acrylic plastic called Lucite, as well as clear and colored rhinestones (particularly aurora borealis) and lava stones, as well as chromed, silver-plated, and black japanned metal. Lisner is has become very collectible as more vintage jewelry lovers appreciate the wonderful shapes and colors.
Kramer was founded by Louis Kramer 1943. Since all activities of the company were centered in New York City many of the pieces are marked “Kramer NYC or Kramer of New York. The company was know for it intricate design work and use of rhinestones particularly in floral or geometric patterns. Kramer was also a maker for Dior in the 1950s-60s. The company closed in the 1970s.

Vendome, along with Corocraft, was an upscale costume jewelry line produced by Coro Inc. and sold in high end department stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue. Regular department stores that carried the main Coro lines were not allowed to carry Vendome.
Emanuel Cohn and Carl Rosenberger started Coro in1901 as a small accessories store on Broadway in New York City. The company officially changed it's name to Coro Inc., a combination of the two names, in 1943. Coro was once one of the largest costume jewelry companies in the world and employed many distinctive designers including Adolph Katz, design director; Gene Verecchio; Oscar Placco; Robert Geissmann and Massa Raimond. The company filed for bankruptcy in the late 1970s. Coro had a large number of jewelry lines.

Les Bernard, founded in the early 1960s by Lester Joy and Bernard Shapiro who used a combination of their first names. Les Bernard pieces were know for their unique take on modern jewelry design and innovative use of materials. The jewelry was usually very substantial and memorable. The company was in business through the mid 90s. Bernard was the son of Harold Shapiro founder of Vogue Jewelry Company.
Faux Asian coins in gold metal. Raised design. Marbleized plastic beads in green plus more coins and Chinese characters dangle from the main necklace. Necklace is continuous with no clasp. Matching clip earrings. This is a perfect set for spring and summer party wear.
Kenneth Jay Lane is on of the most successful costumer jewelers of all time. He got his start designing shoes for Delman and Christian Dior, using his free time to create jewelry. By the late 60s he had opened his own design house. Lane has designed jewelry all across the price spectrum from unique designs for Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis to Avon; from Bergdorf Goodman to QVC. His jewelry is known for it's high quality and incredible style range from classic pearls and gold metal door knocker earrings to ethic tribal pieces and even over-the-top rococo and baroque designs. KJL has designed for many companies over the past 50 years and the age of his pieces can be determined by the mark. Every woman should have at least one piece of KJL in her collection.
